Previous Steroid Users

The use of steroids in the past is a proven risk factor for current hormone imbalance.
This is true particularly for long steroid use, including for medical problems and for
sports   enhancement  or  bodybuilding  (anabolic  steroids).  The  sex  hormones
(primarily testosterone, estrogen, progesterone, DHT) are the most affected. This
imbalance is responsible for many of the complaints people who used steroids in the
past complain about: lack of energy, low stamina, low tolerance to exercise, lack of
interest on exercising, decreased or absent libido or sexual interest, gaining weight
or difficulty loosing weight, baldness.

After  a  visit  with  Dr. Maiquez  a  complete  medical  history,  physical  exam  and
laboratory tests (blood, saliva or both) will determine the degree of the hormone
imbalance or deficit. A comprehensive and personalized plan that includes hormone
replacement therapy is then prescribed. Part of the plan are also an exercise
program, diet recommendations, lifestyle changes and supplements.

The hormone replacement might include injectable forms (testosterone, HGH), oral
(progesterone, thyroid, cortisol), creams (testosterone, estrogen, progesterone).
The oral and cream forms we recommend are bio-dentical hormones. Some of the
hormones and supplements that we recommend you can obtain in our office or you
can take your prescription with you and buy it at any pharmacy of your choice.

There is no reason to experience most of the complaints associated with the
previous use of steroids because help is available. Unfortunately most of the health
care professionals are not aware of them.
